Dem Sen. McCaskill Chides Hillary: 'Show Respect' to Trump Voters

Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-Mo.) on Sunday criticized Hillary Clinton for comments she made about Trump voters earlier this month.

During a conference in India, Clinton took aim at voters in America's Heartland, alleging they voted for President Trump because they wanted to move the country "backwards."

She also claimed she lost in part because white women didn’t stand up to the men in their lives who may have pressured them to vote for Trump.

McCaskill -- an outspoken Clinton supporter during the 2016 election -- told MSNBC that she understands the point Clinton was trying to make, but her comments appeared to be “criticizing Missouri voters," which she said “wasn’t helpful.”
